ARP Instruments, Inc. www.arpinstruments.biz offers a Soluble Salt Meter (SSM) for both FLAT & CURVED surfaces. The SSM (Model #RPCT-07-001) is a patented design providing a handheld, electronic replacement to the Bresle patch for surface conductivity measurements. The meter has been performance tested and accuracy determined to be equal to a laboratory bench top conductivity meter with very little variance between readings.

The SSM is equivalent to the Bresle Method ISO 8502-9 as tested by independent laboratory in accordance with NACE SP0508-2008. The SSM is the only approved alternative by the United States Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) as an alternative to the Bresle method for detecting the presence of soluble surface salts as specified in Navy maintenance standard (NAVSEA Standard Item 009-32). The SSM provides a field alternative to the Bresle patch sampling method specified in ISO 8502-6 and measurement by conductivity specified in ISO 8502-9. All tests are performed automatically in one minute with no consumables (no Bresle patch required), and all data is stored in a downloadable electronic format.
